joejo Posted August 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2006 I have a question for all you cruise know it alls, lol! I booked a 4a guarantee for a Nov cruise and I booked it back in Feb. I am hoping that because I booked so far in advance and paid in full I'll get some sort of an upgrade (hey, I can dream right!) So now some friends of ours have decided to join us on our cruise and their PVP wants our booking number so we can be kinda close. I personally don't care where either one of us is compared ot the other, we can meet to eat right. But they want to book a specific room. Will that screw me for getting an upgrade? They are booking a balcony midship. I just don't want to ruin my chances of an upgrade (as slim as they are) just to be close to someone.
NRWO Posted August 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2006 If they are already booked on a higher deck it could actually help your chances.
joejo Posted August 2, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Hmmm, so if I convince them to book on "my ideal deck" then this might actually work out for me? I never thought about it that way. Thanks!
BigDoug Posted August 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2006 I am assuming from your signature that you are going on the Miracle. A 4A guarantee is for an inside cabin. If your friends are booking a balcony mid-ship, you would get a good upgrade IF you are put close to them. Most likely, any upgrade would be to a 5A obstructed OV, 6A OV, or 7A obstructed balcony. elizablake Posted August 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2006 I think if you are put on any of the floors that have balconies, it would be an upgrade. Even if you still have a inside room you would be on a higher floor. Good luck. You've lost 48lbs! Wow, you deserve a cruise!
joejo Posted August 2, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Thanks elizablake! I started Weight Watchers as soon as I booked the cruise. I was really chubby on our trip to Mexico so I didn't want to repeat "those" pictures, lol!
GoinCruisin Posted August 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2006 Just don't get your hopes up too much... with them linking the bookings this late, you may not get too close, they may link you for dinner only. I've had linked bookings with our groups, that were booked almost 2 years out and we ended up ALL over the place... so just beware that you COULD get what you paid for... so I don't know that I would go through too much trouble. Just keep your fingers crossed! Good luck!
