I f I have a room booked at atlantis for day, can I go back on the ship and eat and then go back to the hotel?
CaptData Posted August 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2006 I do not know about Atlantis but the other part of your question is yes, you can come and go as often as you wish. I often return to the ship for lunch then go out for the afternoon. Just make sure you know what time you have to be back as the ship will not wait for you. It is usually 30 mins prior to the ship leaving. ie ship leaves at 5:00 PM all must be back on board by 4:30 PM. They raise the gangplank at that time.
2Cruise4Ever Posted August 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2006 They usually have many activities planned for those not going ashore: pool games, slot tournaments (if it's a Bahamian flagged ship while docked at Nassau), bingo, napking folding or towel animal classes, art auctions, etc. Or, just lay out and enjoy a relatively empty pool. Last Sept while in Nassau on Carnival, we went into the straw market for shopping early in the AM and then watched 5 more cruise ships come in and made a mad dash back to the ship to avoid the crowds. We had an absolute blast hanging by the pool and playing pool games with the crew. No crowds, reduced priced drinks. Oh, and they usually have spa discounts as well. There will be PLENTY to do!!! Happy Cruising!! :D
ebrener Posted August 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2006 I'm not a fan of the spa, but it's the best time to get a treatment...
GORDONCHICK Posted August 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2006 I'm not a fan of the spa, but it's the best time to get a treatment... So true! The prices are much more palatable when the ship in port.

We did that a few times. on 1 port we had 2 excursions booked and did some shopping on the first one then went back on the ship to drop off the items and change to go back off and do a water excursion. jlp20 Posted August 9, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2006 For the most part, there are few activities going on board while in port. Casino and stores are closed. A lot of the crew are ashore. Even getting a drink may be difficult. However, a quite day by the pool with only 10% of the people around is nice too.
