JadeEyedScorpio Posted August 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2006 I have booked a Helmet Dive through the ship for 8:45-9:45 am. I also want to use Captain Marvins for a stingray trip. His checkin is at 10:15. Does that mean I only have 30 mins between, or 1.5 hrs since Cayman time is 1 hour behind EST time. Thanks
pba20493 Posted August 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2006 Everything, and I mean everything runs on ship time. If you book through the ship, they will let you know if you have time to get to both. Check with the tour desk. Hope this helps. Tim Ruth
Guest YesitDonna Posted August 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2006 You will be on ship time... private vendors will be on island time.
twinkletoes4445 Posted August 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2006 When we were on the Triumph (over New Year's a few years ago), we stayed on Eastern time, and we were told to go by that time...not island time. We booked with CM's also...Joan and Ruth know what's going on. I wanted to do the early snorkel trip, but Ruth said we couldn't get there on time (she was right). At that time of the year (New Year's Day), ship time and island time are the same. So if you have a concerns, I'd email them. If you are going prior to Oct (or whenever the daylight savings date change is)....ship time will be one hour ahead of island time. So if it's 9:00 on the ship, it's 8:00 on the island. Ocho should be the same since they don't observe daylight savings (either).

zydecocruiser Posted August 4, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Local excursions (like the kind you book on your own) are on local time. Ship excursions are on ship time. If ship time and local time aren't the same (often the case), it is up to you to make sure everything works out. The ship won't care. The locals often do, and might adjust their schedule to meet yours, but don't count on it.
