Travelgirl23 Posted July 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2004 Does anyone know of any good CD(s) with ballroom and/or country and western dance lessons? DH and I and DS and girlfriend want to learn some dances for our next Elation cruise. :)
shookdm Posted July 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2004 Travelgirl, You can find almost anything dance related at dancevision.com. I don't know where you live, but in Wasington DC, they have dance lessons in several clubs, and at dance studios on weekends. There may be similar activities in your home town. I'd recommend learning swing and chacha first, as they will be the ones you use the most, mambo/salsa, foxtrot and waltz next.

llanning Posted July 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2004 Look on USABDA.org. If there is a USABDA chapter near you, call and inquire about their dance parties. They usually have a lesson before each dance taught by a local professional. The Captain's Party and the Repeaters Party are your best chance for standard/smooth dancing. There should be plenty of latin/rhythm dancing at the various clubs. It's great exercise and very addicting.
