cruzin4dafunofit Posted August 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Has anyone been there recently and if so what was it like? I believe there is one natural bridge still there but is it off limits to people? I was there back in 2003 and was wondering if it's worth it to go back there? Will be in aruba in jan 2007. thx for any info.
Arubalisa Posted August 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2006 There are some aerial photos of the "once was a bridge" at this link http://community.webshots.com/album/552502427gCVzdt Might be interesting to visit and compare before and after. If you are in the area, heading to the lighthouse and/or Alto Vista chapel, it is probably worth swininging by to see it.
jmo1 Posted August 10, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2006 I saw the collapsed natural bridge from a nearby hill as we drove a rented 4X4 Jeep to the natural pool. It didn't look like much. I can't believe they keep taking tours there. The natural pool is an awesome adventure. If the wind is blowing from the south (rare event) the snorkeling just outside the pool is very good. It's not bad inside the pool.
eldercruser Posted August 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2006 We stopped by last February to see the damage. It was interesting to see how it had collapsed. The gift shop was as busy as ever and the road there is just as bumpy. You can walk out a ways to view the collapse if you are so inclined.
