Scooter or Moped Rentals in Grand Turk

We are cruising on Crown in September. We'd like to rent a scooter or Moped in Grand Turk and explore the island. Has anyone done this before? We'd love to hear your suggestions/comments. Thanks in advance.

We were just in Grand Turks in July and I didn't see anything like that. We walked to Govenor's Beach from the port - did not go further around the island - but there is nothing like that around where the ship docks...plenty of taxis though and trolley to the beach. Maybe they have them if you go into town....

Thanks Hillslife. Govenor's Beach is the beach right beside Margaritaville - near the pier? Did you find it crowded?

Anyone else come across any scooter rentals?

Thanks - counting the days to our 9/12/06 departure! :D

No, Govenor's Beach is about a 10 minute walk from the port. It is a beautiful beach, very white sand, clear water and very relaxing. The beach by Margaritaville is right off the ship dock, not as quiet and the water bottom is very rocky.

I would venture to Governor's Beach - nice walk and very worth it. You have to pay for chairs $5 and snorkel equipment if you want it $15 but much quieter and not as many people as the one right off the ship.

Thanks for the info...we'll likely take the recomendation and just walk down to Govenor's Beach - it sounds very nice. We have excursions booked for other ports, but will enjoy some R&R on the beach in Grand Turk.
