elvisillusions Posted July 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2004 Inquiring minds want to know ... can you tell me anything about the Sensation? We're not expecting it to compare to the Conquest, but other than size/newness, what else is different? Thanks... can't make it much longer w/out another cruise! marcyjane Posted July 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2004 We haven't been on Conquest, but the Sensation was nice, of course a olders ship, but in my opinion is very well kept. The crew and staff were all nice and friendly and helpful. The Seaview Grill (Lido deck) is ok, just your average everyday food. Your can go through the glass doors at the back and there's a little more variety. The food in the dining room was always good and presented very well. The shows were like most other on Carnival. Hope this help a little. I would cruise MS. Sensation again in a heartbeat!!!:)
sls Posted July 8, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2004 Been on both the Conquest and the Sensation. Sensation has this really scary looking bar where the bar stools are hands and you are sitting in the palm. The Sensation has the new white duvet covers which I liked much better than the Conquests spreads. The Pizza station on the Sensation appeared bigger. Sensation didn't have Chinese or Sushi. There was a really nice bar at the bottom of the atrium on the Sensation that was really nice. Food was just as good on both. Staff was wonderful on both. Casino took my money on both. It's more intimate on the Sensation, you'll have a good time! sls Destiny 12/04 Sensation 5/04 Holiday 1/04 Conquest 11/03 USS Kinkaid 9/

JudyKa Posted July 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2004 Elvis, glad you asked this. We are thinking of taking this cruise as well next Summer. We just took a Conquest cruise in June and adored it.....was hoping that the Sensation will be as pleasant an experience. Don't mind the idea of the ship being a few years older....as long as it is clean and not an antique. By the way, we are Mississippians also..... Cotton Posted July 13, 2004 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2004 Hi Kim. You're all excited again, I can tell! :D I TOLD ya you'd be hooked after the first cruise...... I'm SO glad the Sensation's relocating to N.O.! After three straight on the Holiday (which I love), I'm in for a change, so will be on the Sensation on Nov.1 - can't wait! We're hooked, and while we've decided we don't want to cruise on the Holiday just yet ( maybe next year? )... we're going again... this little song plays in my head all day long. Conquest? Sensation? Conquest? Sensation? Thank goodness we still have a few more weeks left to decide... it may be the Oct 31 Conquest or a November Sensation trip! :) Kim
ukcruisefan Posted July 13, 2004 #12 Share Posted July 13, 2004 Have been on both ships. The Sensation was our first ...what more can you say. The bar referred to above is the piano bar. We have many great memories...Ed was a great leader... Ed! Ed! Ed! You can't go on with either ship.
L2J Posted July 13, 2004 #13 Share Posted July 13, 2004 Sensation has this really scary looking bar where the bar stools are hands and you are sitting in the palm. Sensation didn't have Chinese or Sushi. OK, that could be interesting LOL. Wait just a second here. I asked the "Sushi" question a couple of months ago and someone said there was indeed a Sushi Bar but one would have to "look" for it?? I love Sushi and could eat it everyday and while this won't ruin our cruise we'll certainly be disappointed.
GoinCruisin Posted July 13, 2004 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2004 Hey Liv, the sensation did have a sushi bar at one time, but now I believe it is the Internet Cafe :( I looked all over for it last year, they did have some one night on the buffet... but the words buffet and sushi should never be in the same sentence... it was looking rather pale.... I guess we could always just bring our fishing poles :D
