I called a buddy of mine who is an avid diver. He only had dealings with one in New Jersey.

 

Bluewater Diving in Rochelle Park on Rt 17 south.

They also have a shop in Ramsey. He had nothing but good things to say about these guys.

I don't have access to a car, and don't spend much of the week in Jersey, so Manhattan's much easier for me.

 

I appreciate the research though -- I'm sure someone will find the recommendation useful. :)

Leisure pro is a HUGE online retailer with a shop in the NY area. They have very good prices but average to poor customer service.
