Shore excursions/Places to go in St. Maartin?

What is a good place to go/shore excursion around St. Maartin that would be for no more than 5-6 hours in port? Let me know good and also things to avoid on the island as well. Advice appreciated!

Go to a beach - plenty of nice ones:

Orient Beach and Dawn Beach are both nice

or go shopping - Philipsburg has lots of shops and restaurants

or take a sightseeing tour - most taxis can do a two hour tour of the highlights for a reasonable price.

is called "The Greenhouse"..RIGHT by the water taxi stand downtown. Reasonable prices, AWESOME food, great service and good drinks (especially the Bloody Mary).

My cousin and I got in with a group so that we didn't have to spend so much per person. The taxis are at the end of the pier, and they will get groups together to go on a tour.
