Hi everyone,

was just wondering if anyone who has been on the Star has noticed whether the onboard computers have USB ports? Am just wondering whether we will be able to transfer our photos from digital camera to a USB stick if the memory card gets full as have heard it is pretty expensive to get them put onto cd on the ship.

On the Sun it was $10 for them to put the pics onto a disc.

You can't access the cpu of the computer. Only keyboard and screen. I am pretty sure that you can get the photo people to burn them to disc for you like Karmac said you can on the Sun.

it would make your carry on luggage rather heavy, but if you have a laptop then take that. its what im planning to do when i go again, just to keep the camera memory cards empty.

The star also has wireless internet, available in the internet cafe and in the main lobby. Internet connection is charged at 25c a minute. All you have to do to connect is swipe your cruise card and it just bills you for the time you use. And no, you can't access the cpu.

$10 isn't bad, i had been told it was $25 which i though sounded a bit much.

One thing though, the internet that is available on board is incredibly slow.

It's not slow all the time, in fact, tonight, it's pretty quick. Just depends on the time of day you are on and how much traffic is on the satellite.

I think they had wireless set up when we were on Star in March.

 

It's not hard to run up the internet bill - particularly when the satelite connection is slow.
