dansu Posted August 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2006 We want to take the Private Beach excursion with CCL. Does the tender take us directly from the ship to Bannister Island, or do we go ashore first. And if they take us direcly to the island and back to the ship, will there be time, and a tender, to take us ashore to see the port...shop...whatever? momofzeke Posted August 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2006 We did the Private Island Beach Break at Bannister Island in Belize when we cruised the Miracle in March. It's been a few months, but I'll try to remember stuff for you! :) The tender boat picks you up right from the ship and takes you directly to the Island. You do not have to go to the port area first. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to get to the Island. If I remember correctly, there are 2 different tour times available. We did the later time (around 10 am). We were on the Island until about 2 pm. By the time we got back to the ship, there really wasn't time to go to the port area. Perhaps if you did the earlier tour, you would also have time to go to the port. Bannister Island was pretty fun. They have an outdoor bar/restaurant, very clean bathrooms, lounge chairs, float mats, and you can rent kayaks. Waiters come around to your chairs and take your order for food and/or drinks. Menu is pretty limited ~ burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips, a few other things. The chicken strips were very tasty. If you have questions, I'll be glad to answer! :) Edited to add: you can get a few more details about our Bannister Island excursion by clicking on my Miracle Review below my signature.
