Quick Rhapsody of the Seas questions

Recommended Posts

a) Is it possible to get cash from the ship?

b) On Grand Cayman, Key West, and Cozumel, is it better to use cash or VISA for shops, bars, and restaurants?

c) How much do beer and mixed drinks cost on the ship?

Thanks to anyone who can offer answers, this is my first "official" cruise, the

other one was a Cruise from Hell on the Carnival Celebration a few years ago,

and that one doesn't count.

Easy to get cash from the casino - it just goes on your seapass account. We have quit getting a lot of cash before leaving home since it is so easy to get it on the ship.

If we are just buying meals, drinks and inexpensive trinkets, we use cash. If buying anything of value, such as jewelry, we always use a credit card so we have some recourse in case of problems.

Sorry I can't answer your question about drink costs. We don't often pay much attention to that since it is a vacation and we expect to pay whatever. I do know it's not totally unreasonable or I certainly would have noticed that!

You will have a great time on the Rhapsody!!:D

Sorry I just had to reply to this. Our first cruise was also on the Celebration and it tool me 11 years to convince my husband to try again. We have been on RCI every year since. At least I can laugh about it now.

As for your questions yes you can get cash on the ship. You can cash a check at the pursers desk or get cash on your seapass from the casino. There is also an ATM machine on board.

Drinks run between $3.50 for beer, $4 to $6 for mixed drinks and up to $8.00 for martini's.

I can't answer your questions about how to pay for things in port. Personally I prefer to use my credit card for purchases. Ihaven't been to any of these ports yet but we are also sailing on the Rhapsody. We are on the 10/22 sailing.

Have cash and credit cards ready for any port. SOme places like Carlos & Charlies will make you pay cash for the first round and then will let you open a tab. Some places only take cash and besides if you take a cab anywhere you will need teh cash.

Drink costs were pretty accurate in above posts. Remember the tip is automatically included in your cost. Mixed drinks are close to $7. They also have drinks of the day which are around $5.50.

The casino frowns on you using their cage as a bank so be discreet or just use the purser. The ATM onboard charges a hefty fee. If you are on the Key West itinerary, I can tell you that there is a Bank of America atm close by because we made a run for it one cruise! Mr Wolf had direct deposit and his paydate hit the day we were in port - it was like found money to us!!
