delgadofam2002 Posted August 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2006 Will be in Barbados via Sun Princess in 12/30 sailing. Don't want to book a tour w/ the ship. We are planning on taking a diving tour w/ the ship. Then when we are done wanted to take our grandmother & kids around the island. Any suggestions? RAFink1 Posted September 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2006 I suggest walking around Bridgetown. Cave Shepard and Harrison's have duty free goods. The main shopping area is only a few blocks long. Eat at the Waterfront Cafe (across the bridge from the main town). Excellent Bajan (pronounced Bay-jun) food. If you have time to go other places, the mini-busses are 1.50 Barbados (.75 US. They have a maroon stripe on the side and a black circle with a number on the front. Wait for one that is not full. They really pack people in. Ask the friendly locals for the way to go. Oisten's fish fry on Friday nights is not to be missed.
North Carolina Cruiser Posted September 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2006 How far do these busses go? In Aruba they went all over the island but other islands they stayed "in town"
