Parking an RV at the Long Beach Pier

There are 6 of us driving to Long Beach on Saturday....to sail on Sunday, Carnival Pride. We had planned on driving in our van...with luggage on top.....and we will stay in a hotel near the pier. After much discussion (!) with DH......I suggested that we drive our motorhome instead. It will be much more comfortable for the 6 of us (2 17yr teen boys) (2 12yr girls) and us. Besides.....I have this awful vision of all of our luggage flying off the top of our car in the self-contained luggage container....and landing somewhere on I-5 between here and Long Beach. It's about an 8 hour drive.

Now that I have pleaded my case......has anyone ever parked a motorhome at the Long Beach cruise terminal? I know that parking cars is $10 per day....and we would expect to pay more, due to the size of our vehicle. Just wondered if it's possible. We won't be "camping" in the parking lot.......we will be staying in a hotel.........then driving to the pier parking lot.

Thanks in advance for any answers out there!

I know from experience that the parking lot used by the Queen Mary Hotel complex is very large and open with no roof. The actual new parking garage for the cruise ships is a multi-story structure with height restrictions.

My suggestion is to call the Queen Mary Hotel and try to talk with a parking attendent and find out what the pricing would be for the main parking lot and if there are restrictions.
