stjohnrocks Posted August 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2006 I'm trying to book this hotel for May, 2007 and can't get any availability to come up using Starwood points or paying in $$. Does anyone know if I'm trying to early or could it really be full already?! Thanks for any tips.

paulam Posted August 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2006 I'm trying to book this hotel for May, 2007 and can't get any availability to come up using Starwood points or paying in $$. Does anyone know if I'm trying to early or could it really be full already?! Thanks for any tips. The hotel could very well be all booked up. I tried to get a room at the Fairmont Waterfront for July, 2007 and was told the hotel is booked solid due to conventions.
Cathy Maneri Posted August 29, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2006 I just booked the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver for five nights from 5/25 to 5/30 directly on the Sheraton website and didn't have a problem finding rooms. The web prices were the best prices. You may want to contact the hotel directly. The hotel you want may have a convention or sales conference going on. stjohnrocks Posted September 3, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted September 3, 2006 I called the hotel direct and the main reservations number. I got different answers from each of them. The hotel said those dates weren't loaded yet ( makes no sense since days subsequent were in the on line system). The reservations center said they were completely full. Anyway, I was able to get two days reserved using Starwood points. The other two days I have booked with Princess since no there was no availability any other way at this point. I guess all the cruise lines book blocks of rooms so maybe more availability will open later (?).
lougee1043 Posted September 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2006 imo the bayshore is a bit off the beaten track i would suggest finding a hotel up on robson closer to city center or even next to the cruise terminal
critterchick Posted September 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2006 It wasn't available for booking wiht Starpoints until September. We booked a room last week. We love the location - it's only about a 10 minute stroll to Robson Street, it's right next to Stanley Park and there are tons of great restaurants around. MaggieSweet Posted September 25, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 25, 2006 We just stayed there two nights pre- and two nights post-cruise within the last two weeks. Great hotel, LOVE the indoor pool! The hotel restaurants are very expensive though. Lots of choices within two blocks and if you just feel like having a pizza delivered, try Panago. :) Yummy! I was able to book it (6 months ahead of time) through hotwire and got it for less than $70 per night for both stays. If you use this method, any 4-star hotel in downtown Vancouver is going to be great. Happy cruising!! Tammy
