Umbrellas

We are booked for an Alaskan cruise on the Sun Sept 9. We are in an AC penthouse suite and wondered whether or not there will be an umbrella in our suite to use.

 

There was one in our suite when we sailed on Celebrity's Century.

In July on the DAWN in our AD suite (first time I'd ever seen an umbrella in an a suite on NCL) there was a nice large NCL umbrella in the closet. The cabin steward saw me taking the umbrella out of the cabin and while we were in the hallway heading up on deck........the cabin steward told me, "It's only for use in the cabin." Communication was a little difficult with him, but I ended up putting the umbrella back in the cabin and not using it. Our friends didn't have an umbrella in the owners suite, so I'm guessing a passenger probably left the umbrella........and the cabin steward was protecting it.:D I'll be back in the same cabin in less than 6 months and will be curious to see if the umbrella is still there.

Why would anyone use an umbrella IN the cabin? Am I missing something or was the steward making a joke?

The cabin steward was serious, I wasn't supposed to be taking the umbrella out of the cabin. Maybe for use on the balcony.....I couldn't figure it out either, and didn't feel like taking the time to understand it.
