Try Again! GOLF on the Miracle! :-)

Since so many of you came back from the last cruise....(well, I guess its the same every week)...I guess I'd try again...

I am cruising on the Miracle in a couple of weeks and am wondering about the quality of the Golf Professional and lessons onboard the ship. I read some questionable things about the golf pro, but the reviews were very old (say 8 months). I know that probably means there is a new person.

Has anybody played golf onboard lately? What was their experience? And how are the courses?

I was on Miracle 2 weeks ago. I didn't play or took the lesson. But I did walked by there a couples of time. From my point of view it was not very exciting . They set up some nets and a carpet in the corridor on deck 10 and there was one instructor to give the lesson. One night they set up right in the lobby.

That the golf cage was getting some use....but maybe I'll have better luck with someone who gets off this week.

I'm curious about the professionalism/skill of the pro? I golf a fair bit. I did learn that its a "she" (which seems more common than I would have thought on these ships).

What are the courses like? And the lessons? Anyone? Bueller?

When we were on the Legend last March, my son took lessons from the Pro. It cost 100 dollars for 3 1/2 hour lessons. They were okay, but he seemed more interested in getting his golf excursions full. I had a friend who went on the Belize course, and said it was wonderful...it is an island, you fly over and they were the only ones on the course that day. It costs a lot, but it is a once in a life time thing. They were offering to take non golfers over to use the pool and clubhouse for $50 ( I think).

DH and I are avid golfers at home and we went on the Inspiration last January because of the golf excursions.

We had a great time and used the golf simulator on board many times - sea days were quite boring, glad we had the golf.

We golfed in Grand Cayman - only a 9 hole course but hey we were golfing! Then we went and golf in Playa Del Carmen @ Iberostar and it was amazing! The course was beautiful and the pro's escort you everywhere and give you little tips about the course.

But - that is the only reason we took a Carnival cruise was for the golfing so of course we enjoyed it.

MALE golf pro on Liberty in April. Looked kinda bored. Saw he getting coffee every morning at the bar on Lido deck.
