I go on my first cruise in 107 days:) . I would like to know about smoking on the ships?

Smoking is allowed in all staterooms, balconies, open decks on the port side and some of the cocktail lounges and bars throughout the ship. Smoking is not allowed in any dining rooms, showrooms or lobbies.

Carnival posts the designated smoking areas in the Capers every day. They do not change, but they post it every day simply as a reminder.

 

There are plenty of places to smoke and plenty of places one can go to avoid it.

 

If you have a balcony, be aware that you may have neighbors that smoke on theirs. A small battery operated fan can work wonders to "redirect" any smoke.

 

In 20+ years, we have never had a problem with walking into a cabin that "reeked" (as can be the experience in hotels sometimes). However, should that happen, a simple call to the cabin steward should fix the problem. They can do something as simple as spraying their "magic" spray or as complicated as replacing comforters, pillows and cleaning the carpets for the worse cases.

Port side on the Glory, but it is true it can be different on each ship. However, as previously stated you will have plenty of places to smoke and plenty of places to stay away.

Port is left, starboard is right (facing front). The easy way to remember this is both port and left are shorter words, starboard and right are longer words.

If it's night, the side with the red light is port. Green is starboard. Red and blue flashing behind you means you're probably getting pulled over. :)
