New Boards..confusing I need Help with finding a few things on here..help?!?!?!

I was wondering where do I go to edit my Profile?

Why My Signature wasn't working or do I have to go somewhere to make sure its being added?

Also wanted to know what some of my fellow CC Members opinions were about this new board..anyone care to share the good or bad?? I myself think this board is much harder to read and more confusing all around..my opinion..its driving me nutz!!!

Also where is the search feature to find certain topics posted thru threads on here??

Your signature is there - you need to click on User CP (upper left hand part of the screen) and click on Edit Options, and make sure that the boxes are checked off to show signatures, avatars, and images.

Thanks Snowball for the help..I went to the cr user thing and it showed my signature all intact..but I have one other question if you can see my signature and I can't do you know why that is?? Is that how the new board is working others can see them and we can't of our own? Do you have a signature? If so I didn't see it on your posting to the thread. Just checking maybe something wrong with my puter..ya never know..thanks

Go to User CP--edit options--then make sure your thread display options look like this:

 

 

 

Thread Display Options

Visible Post ElementsYou have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.

x Show Signatures

x Show Avatars

x Show Images (including attached images and images in code)

As Snowball and Piper have said you need to make sure that you check the boxes to enable signatures, avatars, and images. The User CP is where you can make all the changes you need to enhance and personalize your experience here at Cruise Critic. I am one that loves this new and much improved message board.

The big thing is that when you make changes, remember to click on SAVE.

 

Edit Signature - this is where you add countdown clocks (I copied mine from someone on the board), previous cruises, your name, or maybe a favorite quote. Even permanent smilies. Once you have the info in the box, just click on Save Signature.

 

Edit Email & Password - this one is self-explanatory. Be sure to save changes if you enter anything.

 

Edit Profile - I just entered my city and birthdate in here. Again, save changes.

 

Edit Options - Now this one has a lot of stuff to personalize. You can choose to be invisible and receive e-mail, or not. Just click on the boxes that you want or leave them blank. Thread display options: I have checked all the Visible Post Elements. If you're on dialup you may want to leave avatars or show images blank. I'm on cable so they all load quickly for me. Thread Display Mode: Use the drop down box for the choices. I'm on Oldest First. Number of Posts to Show Per Page: You'll be able to choose up to 40 per page. Default Thread Age Cut Off: Again a drop down box where you can choose a number of options. Mine is set on "show all threads". Date & Time: Use the drop down menus to find your time zone. It has a couple of other options there that are your choice. Miscellaneous Options: This is where you get the smilies, different font sizes and colors. I chose "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing". Now save those changes!

 

Edit Avatar - I used a custom avatar and entered the URL of the site where it's hosted. You can also download something from your computer. Hit save and you're done.

 

Edit Profile Picture - This one I haven't worked with yet, but it looks like you can add your picture here and it should show up on the screen when you post???

 

That's as far as I understand it. There are other options to tweak things even more.
