XtinaRenee Posted September 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2006 My DH and I are going on a 7 day cruise and I was just wondering, will the first formal night be the second evening at sea? I would think it wouldn’t be in the evening on the same day as embarkation. Also, since we are staying in a suite, I'm going to definitely take advantage of the free dry cleaning & laundry services. Instead of getting his suits and dress shirts dry cleaned before we leave, as soon as we board and get checked into our cabin, I was going to request that they be dry cleaned and laundered in preparation for the formal nights. What’s the turn around time on their dry cleaning & laundry services and are they good? Thanks in advance for your responses, it's most appreciated!! :D

What a concept! I never thought of taking dirty laundry to a cruise!
barbarah33 Posted September 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2006 I admire your thought process in bringing dirty clothes on a cruise! The formal nights should be your second night and your second to last night of the cruise. As for turnaround time, if you tell them on the first day – say before you go to dinner, that you need your clothes back for the following nights formal wear they will get it back to you sometime that afternoon. Love Boat Dream Posted September 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2006 We've done that! Give the laundry to your steward the day you get on the ship and it will be ready for formal night. I think they do a good job, although I thought the laundry was a little on the stiff side! But, for free I was not complaining!
SilentTraveller Posted September 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2006 Does the free laundry service include standard service or priority service? The standard service is in by 9:00am back at 5:00pm the NEXT day. And with priorty service (a 50% surcharge) you can get it back 5:00pm the same day. I don't know if the free service includes the priority processing or the standard 2 day service. Also, be careful on the return time. My laundry was delivered to my room much later than 5:00pm. I had early seating and left my cabin at 6:00pm and did not have the laundry until I returned after dinner. So if you need to have you clothes returned before you go to dinner (say for formal night) -- you should probably mention this to your room steward to provide assistance.
