Glofen Posted September 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2006 We will be in Barcelona in October as the last stop of our cruise. My husband is interested in touring the Pyrennes and Basque country villages. Does anyone know of such tours and can you recommend a guide? CruisinGerman Posted September 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2006 Hi, You need to be more specific about how long you are going to be in Barcelona for, etc. Most people visiting Barcelona who want to see the "Pyrenees", usually take an excursion or car trip to Andorra and its vicinity. Andorra is probably about two hours from Barcelona. However, the Basque Country (at least the part of it that most tourists would be interested in, such as the coastal area of San Sebastián in Spain and Biarritz in France), is about a six hour drive from Barcelona (or short flight from Barcelona to San Sebastián or Bilbao). Please be a little more specific about your plans and available time on-land in Spain, since what you are describing involves extensive land travel and is not really feasible for a one day cruise stop or a one-night pre-cruise or post-cruise stay in Barcelona. Kind regards, Gunther and Uta
Glofen Posted September 11, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Thanks, Gunther and Uta. We will only be in Barcelona for 2 days post cruise so from what you are saying, that's not long enough to see Barcelona and do the Basque country.
