I have a questions that has nothing to do with cruising, but you guys are great travel experts. Does anyone know any airlines that take you from fort lauderdale/miami to Australia? Also, any recommendations for a nice landline vacation other then your typical bahamas, jamaica, mexico trips? I'm counting on you! :D

I hate to say this but your post likely won't be here for long. It will probably be moved to the Cruise Air board any minute now.

Have you tried searching one of the large online travel agencies like Travelocity and plugging your cities in to see what flights come up? That's probably the quickest way to find out some of the airlines that do that trip.

From Miami...

Qantas Airways

American Airlines

United

Qantas being the least exspensive that i found.

All flights i checked on are going into Melbourne.

HTH

As far as land base vacation. Have you thought about Alaska it is very beautiful and lots of things to do. Branson MO offers lots of entertainment at a reasonable price. Lake Tahoe has beautiful lakes in the summer and wonderful slopes in the winter, and the casinos are just a hop skip and a jump away if thats your thing.

Good luck!

I flew AA from RDU to LAX, and then Qantas from LAX to Sydney. I LOOOOOOVED Qantas... my favorite airline to date, they really treat the passenger as a valued guest. It was a LONG flight (in total, 23 hours... 15 non stop) but well worth it. Not sure where you are planning on going in AUS, but Sydney was fabulous... and kept me busy 20 hours a day for 10 days... can't wait to go back!!!
