NCL Thus Far a Pleasure to Deal With!

Our family has 3 cabins booked the week of Thanksgiving on the POH. Thus far, NCL has been a pleasure to deal with. Our cruise specialist is very friendly and has been so helpful. All reservation confirmations received by email were perfect.

I booked all of our excursions and received confirmations also by email for all of them. I have read nightmares on several posts by people trying to book their excursions online, so I was a little worried about doing so; however, it was so easy! :)

Like I said...so far, so good! Just waiting on final document packets and flight schedules. Will update when those are received! Who knows, the "up-sell" fairy might even call; however, it will have to be a great deal because we plan to spend very little time on the ship.

We are ready and counting the days!

When I replied there was another post between mine and the original post which seems to have disapeared which was why I stated "no your not" now my post does not make sense. I was referring to your post which said "I must be the only one that feels that way about NCL" Does this happen a lot?

Yes, I just looked again and my post that stated: "Am I the only one pleased with NCL" has disappeared. I edited it by changing a mispelled word and guess it was deleted. Sorry for the confusion, but it is GREAT to hear from another happy NCL cruiser! Thanks for your response.

Since mid-May I have had the worst customer relations problems with NCL about our new Lattitudes Cards..interesting enough I have documented all of this aggravation.. Then I booked a cruise in June..we are about tomorrow to cruise to B ermuda from Boston.. No amount of phone calls to NCL seems to get any information from them.. Bermuda is expecting a Category 2 anyhow Hurricane Monday to Tueday...We are due to dock on Tuesday.. Two other cruise lines have changed their itinerary.. NCL still says they are studying the situation.. Now, I dont care if we go to Canada, I dont...or if we are going to Bermuda a day or two later.. but please stop playng games with two cruise ships full of passengers. Even if we go to Bermuda on Wedneday.. it would be in poor taste for two cruise ships anyhow to show up with party goers.. while the Bermudians are suffering the after effects.. We cruised Celebrity last October and I cannot get over the helpful agents I ran into telling me which exact plane to request to get to London and then Barcelona.. It wasnt always this way.. I did have great assistance from an Asst, to the Head of NCL before it was sold.. our trip was cancelled 48 hours before sailing.. and they did well by us to make up for the inconvenience... I'm spitting mad at them.. and will let their people know how unfriendly their customer service actually is..

I guess I am having a hard time understanding the Customer Service problem. You have a Latitudes number and are facing a hurricane in September. Not sure what anyone in customer service did to make you spitting made

Early in May I called Lattitudes about receiving new upgraded cards...After numerous calls they were received the end of June. I have NO problem booking a cruise in Sept., but NCL as of last night refuses to tell passengers where they are heading this mornng.....until they arrive at the ship.. Bermuda as I write this is being hit very hard...

I haven't had a Latitudes card EVER (or at least not that I recall) - yet whenever we cruise NCL they are aware of how many cruises DH and I have taken and pull up our Latitudes number.

Since I've never HAD the card, are there additional benefits to having the physical card versus just knowing the number? Used to be that you got drink discounts if you were a LAT member - is that still the case and is that why the card is so important?

As to NCL holding on a decision re: porting in Bermuda - I live in a hurricane area (SoFla) and these storms can take a last minute jog that would take Bermuda out of harms way (except for gusty wind/rain but no hurricane conditions) so maybe that's the rationale? Two weeks ago we were expecting to get hit with Ernesto - hurricane shutters were up, gas cans filled, business(es) shut down early, etc., and the only effects where 25 MPH winds and some rain......

I'm willing to bet they're doing the best that they can - and it's not unusual that shoreside CSR are the last to know...........

No need for a card in fact now when you get your key card printed on it is your latiatudes level - Bronze, silver , gold or platinum. That is all you need to takea advantage of any discounts.

As far as where the Majesty goes today has nothing to do with customer service. Fustrating yes. The Captain has the final decision on the itinerary. Right now it looks like the storm is long gone by Tuesday. I think we would hear a lot more whining if the go to Canada in rough sea from the storm and Bermuda has perfect weather all week.

Anyone remember the RCL VOS cruise last year that went north. They are being sued in NJ for violation of the consumer protection act. Exact same situation as today. They ended up in rainy Canada while the sun was out in Bermuda.
