Live from the Pride !!!

I just called Carnival. As of right now there are no changes in itinerary for next week. Of course that could all change between now and Sunday.

Fred: I hate to ask you to do this...but it you get a chance will you ask either the purser's desk or whoever does the shore excursions a question for me??? On Carnival's website it states that if Carnival has to cancel an excursion you will be given on board credit. But when I called Carnival just now the lady said that our credit card would be refunded....which takes 7 to 9 days. If I have to go to Canada I want the money I paid on shore excursions to Mexico made available to me immediately via Sign and Sail. Could you do a little investigating for me???

I will be thinking about you Sunday. Sure hope everything goes well and you head for Mexico. Have a great time where ever you go. We all will be looking forward to your review when you return. How lucky can we all get with a review from both you and Fred.

Thank you farmers wife and wavecruiser. Hopefully the review will be from Mexico and not Canada! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Pride Day 6 Cabo, Cont.

Shayla returned to the ship around 11:30am and said that the Parasailing was awesome. Since the times were changed

they opened up a few more activites as well as Lunch in the Dining room. Wendy had Hay & Straws which is a Pasta

dish with egg fetuccine etc. I had the Chinese Pepper Steak, it came with White rice, Stir fried lean beef,

peppers, onions and pineapples. Very tasty.

The last tender arrived shortly after 12:30pm and we set sail at 1pm. Its still looks very nice and sunny with only

a few Clouds out in the distance. At the moment we are just passing the Arch rock formations and picking up speed.

Current speed is 19 knots with winds from the West at 10 mph. Looks like we will totally miss any of this tropical

storm. I am happy that the Captain didn't take any chances with a storm just south of us. This is the best way we

can enjoy nicer calmer waters on the way home.

A few comments from our Lunch tablemates, 2 newly wed couples, one from San Bernadino and the other from Northern

Cal. The first couple stated that the Dune buggy excursion in P.V, the bus driver that took them there didnt want

them to get back on the bus all dirty. There were no showers etc. and finally the guy was talked to by other tour

guides and he had no choice but to take them back to the ship. I told them to report that on carnivals website.

Second Couple told us that he went Snorkling here in Cabo and wondered over to where these rocks are because there

were more fish there. He got sucked under these rocks and into a cave. No where to go as the waves kept him from

coming out and the more he tried the more he got bashed into the rocks while stuck in this underwater cave, he

found an air pocket and took his mask and threw it away as he figured this was it and he was going to die. He then

found a ledge and kept his back to it and found a pocket where he could dive in and escape. There was a few people

including a U.S. Marine that was looking for him as they saw him go under. He swam quickly away from the rocks and

got to shallower waters and got out. He lost is wedding band and suffered a few cuts and bruses to his legs. His

wife was distracted by another couple on the beach as they were talking and didnt know this was happening to her

new husband. This was his very first Snorkle experience. It was in the Lovers Beach area.

While standing out on the Balcony watching Cabo get smaller and smaller, a lady was looking 0ut also from her

balcony next door. She told me that she also went on an excursion, I think it was snorkling also but on the other

side of cabo. They were dropped off at a shopping area. The tour guide told them that from here its a $10.00 cab

ride back to the ship. They took a cab and when they arrived back to the dock, the cabby wanted to charge them

$100.00 because he also took them for a tour. She told him in Spanish that no one told him to take them on a tour

and only back to the ship. She stood up to this guy and only paid 15.00. She said next time they ensure they get

the price before they even get into the cab.

Drink Special today is Goombay Smash, drinks cost 3.50 and 6.75 with the Souvenir glass. I guess all drink specials

that I quoted throughout the week at the higher price were with the Souvenir Glass.

Now for some answers:

Vbacht, The floor of the 7a balcony is flush with the top of the Lifeboat, you can sit and look out with no

problems. Thats even a better upgrade then the 6a obstructed with the french doors.

Bonstersd, you guessed it yesterday at 2:39pm, we left cabo 3 hours eariler.

DianeF, I saw Santa again while waiting to enter the Past Guest Party. Her foot is getting better, she said

something about it was Carnivals fault for the Balcony door slamming into her foot, I didnt want to go into it so

maybe she can tell you more when she arrives as to why it was Carnivals fault. Either way she didnt get charged for

the infirmary visit which is good. The Balcony doors do slam hard just like the Cabin doors if you are not

watching. You are right, October seems to be the best time to cruise down to Mexico, its less humid and alittle

cooler. I will email you more when I return.

Wavecruiser, I missed Mondays Tea Time but made it on Tuesday, I took pictures and will create a Tea Time Thread

when I get back. Looks like they have Tea Time on all Sea Days.

Ladycaveat, Wendy took some good pictures of Randys Happy Horses, they even have a new baby colt. I will post those

pictures too.

NeptunesGoddess, I took some photos and will email them to you when I get home. The walking areas are very nice,

especially around the shops.

First-timecruiser, I haven't heard of seen anything about a organized pub crawl, I will keep looking.

Tonight is Formal night, Prime Rib and Tiger Jumbo Shrimp for me.

Tonights show is Vroom, the 2nd and last Vegas style production show. Vocals from Bree Shannon and Eric Burt. and

JeRone will do is Adult Comedy show tonight at Midnight. Also the Grand Gala Buffet at around 11:30pm for photos.

Wendy and Shayla will probably go see the Show, I will be napping before the Adult Comedy show.

See ya all in a few.

Thanks Fred....but if we end up in Canada I'm going to fight for OBC, not a credit card refund. I want that money made available right away. Glad to hear you're not hitting any bad weather. Keep us posted if you hear anything about us leaving on Sunday. Have fun tonight!

My daughter and I will also be on the Pride november 26. Maybe we will here from ours soon.

We also will be on that same cruise as you. Funny that I will also be taking it with my daughter it is her 15th birthday and this will be our very first cruise, we are sooo excited. We probably won't get our docs for another month or so what do you think? We have a guaranteed inside so I don't know when we will find out what room we will be in, how about you?

This is so funny you asked this, Fred, because as soon as I was done reading all the new posts in this thread, I had planned on making a request for a photo. I have only been on the Inspiration, a Fantasy Class ship, that has their promenade deck high up with large windows and places to sit along them and then the casino and night clubs along the other side. I have noticed that, in order to make more cabins with balconies on the Spirit Class ships, the Promenade deck has been moved to a lower part of the ship. I am really curious how that deck looks as you walk down it. I can only find pictures of the night clubs, casino..etc...but never any pictures of the actual walking areas of this deck. Do you think you could snap a few? Perhaps a bird's eye view as you mosey (or promenade) along the deck? I would really like that if you could.

Smoocruise, that would be so great if you could check for Merits next week. Thanks so much for offering. By the way, you will be sailing during International talk like a pirate day (sept. 19th). Hehe...so be sure you utter a few "Arrrrrrrrgh Mateys" and "Avasts" and "Ahoys" on Tuesday. hehe.

LadyCaveat, I am getting so excited for January 7th I can hardly stand it. Have you booked all your excursions? I think we are only going to do one and just be on our own the rest of the time. Still debating that. :)

Hi Kim . . . yes, I'm really getting excited!!!!! In Cabo, my son is booked on the "Up Close Whale Watchin by Zodiac" and I'm booked on the "Whale Watching & Coastal Cruise" . . . both through Carnival. In Mazatlan, we've made reservations with Randi's Happy Horses. Haven't a clue what I'm going to do in PV . . . my son want's to do the Canopy zip line trip but that's a tad to scary for me. He hasn't booked yet, wants to do it via an independent tour (not Carnival). On my Caribbean cruise that I just returned from, I only booked one excursion and was just on my own for the two other ports. But I'd been there a couple times before. This will be my first trip to the Mexican Riviera. 113 days to go . . . we'll soon be in double digits!!!!!!

Hello, My grown daughter and I are also very excited and looking forward to some mother and daughter time together. Yes we look for our docs about the middle of October or so according to our tour agent. We have booked an 8a and hope for an upgrade. If not we will be happy any way. We think we would like to be up a little higher. We plan to take tours through Carnival to make sure we make it back to the ship on time. From what we here november weather should be nice in Mexico. Most likely will be cool around Long Beach and first day at sea. Fred has been so helpful to us all. Smoocruise also plans a review when she returns. My daughter and I are from ARKANSAS.

WENNFRED I have so enjoyed Your cruise... We were on the Pride last June and just loved the whole experience.

My saddest day on the ship was Saturday... The ship is sailing in the wrong direction!! We are going home.

Enjoy your Saturday live dangerously and refuse to pack until morning! LOL:D

Thanks Wennfred, I will be looking forward to the the pics.

LadyCaveat, We haven't booked the zip lines either but I have heard if you go through Los Veranos, they offer you to go along for 20 bucks if you don't want to do the zip lines. Apparently they have a nice restaurant (with margaritas) where you can stay while your family is doing the lines. There is nice stream nearby etc...even a bit of trinket shopping. I am thinking I might do this as the lines are not for me either. I wouldn't mind hanging out with you for some chips n salsa and margaritas while our dare devils seek adventure. :)

Smoocruise and all other cruisers leaving Sunday...I have my powerful pixie dust flying your way that you won't be seeing Canada anytime soon. :D

Good morning everyone! Carnival's official answer is that there is no itinerary change at this time. I've been following the storm and it looks to me that Lane will be far enough out of the way that we should be able to safely get around him. But I am not an expert and certainly not the captain responsible for everyone's safety. From what I've been reading Carnival won't make the decision until the last minute. I personally am planning on going to Mexico! :D

Fred: What are you hearing? Does the crew still say we're going to Canada?:(

Whatcha gonna do on your "Fun Day At Sea"? Have fun!

Our family did the Canadian trip on the Victory and loved it. I know when you have your heart set on a certain itinerary that is seems like a bust, but hey worse case scenario is you are still on a cruise.:)

While 14E has the exact track that would cause Carnival Pride to do the Draft Dodger Rag, it lacks oomph. Also note that it doesn't even rate a name yet. And it's heading for the California Current and it forgot its sweater. A fatal mistake.

Between it and Lane, it might get a little choppy, but that's the worst of your worries. And if you're still worried, I'll be happy to trade places with you.

Enjoy your trip.
