help a first timer out...not picky about the destination

Just wondering what would be a good time to take a cruise out of NYC or NJ to avoid the hurricane season. Also, which cruise lines are good for someone who is taking a 2 year old and a 5 year old? Is it OK to take kids that young on a cruise? Anything else that you cn would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would stick with Disney, Carnival or RCCI. Find a line that accepts 2 year olds in their kid's program. Most programs start at 3 and kids must be toilet trained.

Carnival and Disney are the only ones that take 2 yr olds in program. The RCCL one is mom or dad comes with the child and plays with him/her there.

thank you. How worried should I be about motion sickness given that my 5 year old feels it while driving? I'll do a search, but your input would be appreciated.

I would consult his doctor. If he is prone on land he could be on sea. I would try sea bands while driving. They work by accupucture. Buy a set and try it while driving with the tyke. If they work then they should work while cruising without the effects of drugs on the child.
