Sea Grape...Don't do it for snorkeling

We went to Seagrape beach last week...took a cab for $5 each to get there...caught a public transport van for $2.50 each back to town.

It is a beautiful beach, that's for sure.....but don't go there to snorkel. The reef is only a few feet off the beach but it has been over snorkeled and most of the coral is dead. We did see some Parrot Fish and other fish, found a beautiful conch shell (still alive) and the people at the beach shacks working there said they'd never seen one that color, and had a good time in general...but if you are going to snorkel, pick a different site if you're wanting to see something spectacular because you wont see it here.
