samnjoc Posted September 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Hello - has anyone heard of tour companies in Panama requiring passport #s or IDs for the people on the excursion? I am thinking it is part of this port regulation but I am not sure. We are trying to book with a private tour operator and they are requesting this for "insurance and Port regulations". Thank you! Sue L Posted September 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2006 What ship are you on? I know that on RCCL you can not get off the ship UNLESS you have a excursion booked through the cruiseline, this is for security reasons. I have never seen any tour company anywhere requiring that kind so info.
samnjoc Posted September 14, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 14, 2006 We are on the Carnival Liberty. We don't go through the canal so we are able to book our own excursions. I read a message about someone using the company I am using, so it seems ok and I think I read somewhere about the tour company needing this information but I wanted to make sure - better to be safe than sorry! samnjoc Posted September 18, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted September 18, 2006 Whew - that makes me feel a lot better. We have never had to provide this info (on all our 12 cruises), so it made me a bit nervous. We are using Panama Pete - http://www.adventuresinpanama.com/ and doing the Jungle Challenge adventure. Ever heard of them?
