m steve Posted September 15, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2006 when ever we travel in the Caribbean or Mexico we bring along RX from our doctors and buy our RX at greatly reduced prices and have never been asked if we have brought brugs back from outside of the US. I guess the Pharmacutical companies haven't pressured the gov't. to check from other than Canada. Do you do the same to save?
hajekfam Posted September 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2006 I would be very leery to do so. From the U S Customs website: Medication/Drugs In virtually all instances, individual citizens are prohibited from importing prescription drugs into the United States. The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) prohibits persons from importing into the United States any prescription drug that has not been approved for sale by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or which is adulterated or misbranded within the meaning of the Act. Moreover, in those instances where a United States manufacturer makes an FDA-approved prescription drug and sends it abroad, the Act also prohibits any person other than the original manufacturer from importing the drug back into the United States. Thus, in virtually all instances, individual citizens are prohibited from importing prescription drugs into the United States.

smeyer418 Posted September 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2006 As long as you are bringing back a reasonable amount for personal use no one will stop you. Put it in your checked luggage.
