Guest Time2gocruzn Posted July 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2004 I have heard tell here that there is a smoking and non smoking side of the ship. Is this true? If so, is it just the outside areas of the ship, or does it include cabins too?
Rare Terre Posted July 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2004 When we went on the Triumph last year there was a non-smoking side in the lounges. I'm not sure about cabins. We don't smoke and I can't remember if we asked for a non-smoking cabin or not, but I did not smell any hint of cigarette smoke in the cabin. SallyMay Posted July 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2004 Yes, there is a smoking and a nonsmoking side on the Lido deck. There are no nonsmoking room. I have read many posts that states they have not had a problem with finding the smell of smoke in their rooms. They must really use some good stuff. I know you can smoke in the casinos, about the rest of the ships, I'm not sure.:(
Cotton Posted July 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2004 The only place I've seen actual signs posted is on the Lido Deck (like Sally said). And that's only where the tables/chairs are, on either side of the pool. MOST areas of the ships ARE non-smoking.
pholter Posted July 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2004 The dining rooms, show room, and one of the larger lounges are also non smoking areas. As the others have said, there are no non smoking cabins though. The lido deck has a smoking area on one side of the outside area, no area is provided inside though. hstrybuf Posted July 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2004 Check your Capers first thing. The one from the Legend clearly lists where smoking is allowed. You can assume that anything NOT listed is non-smoking.:)
born2crooz Posted July 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2004 The capers list the Port side of the outside decks as non-smoking. There are no cigarette receptacles there. Of course it's not widely publicized so there is always smoking on both sides, through no fault of the smokers. I'm sure if they knew, they would just walk over to the Starboard side. pholter Posted July 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2004 I never know the difference between Port and Starboard, but thanks for letting me know the ashtray thing- I always have problems finding any of them around...
born2crooz Posted July 12, 2004 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2004 I was given a hint on the critic boards about the sides of the ship. Port and left have the same number of letters so when facing foward, the port side is the left side. That's the only way I can remember it! Tika Posted July 12, 2004 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2004 That was a great way to remember with the letters Port = Left side four letters. I have had my way for years ........forgive me but this is how I remember. :>)! "I am on a ship, I am on vacation, I am going to Never Never Land.......... Starboard = follow the Stars and there will be Never Never Land...........Second to the RIGHT and straight to morning!" Just me! LOL Anyone else out there with their way?
