Florence - you can take O's Florence on your own or try to get a cab to the train station in Livorno and then train it up to Florence.

Amalfi - Tender port for us and we were right there in town. I believe you can also take a bus up to Positano or the other towns if you want.

Are you saying that Oceania provides a tender that leaves you in Amalfi to explore and from there you can take a bus to Positano? I will not take Oceania's excursions. We have done them before and find them very expensive. And we have been to many of the ports. :)

On our cruise, Amalfi was one of our ports, it was a tender and we were dropped off right near town, we happened to have a private guide that day. Which port were you looking to go to Amalfi from? If it is Amalfi, as soon as the ship tours are off, then you could take a tender to shore and easily walk around town. Have a plan b in case the weather is too rough for the tenders at Amalfi. Oceania usually seems to go to Naples instead if that's the case.

We tendered into Amalfi from the Nautica in August and the town was right there, no need for taxi or bus. At the next little dock there were ferry boats to Positano, a pretty 20 minute cruise with view of the coastline and very inexpensive. Positano is steep, gives you a bit of a work-out, but is beautiful. We learned later from other passengers who had taken a taxi or bus that the road to Positano was jammed with traffic, so our scenic choice of cheap ferry-boat was faster. Hope this helps.
