MamaParrotHead Posted September 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2006 I was so looking forward to a Southern Caribbean cruise in '09, but the super port-intensive itinerary kind of turns me off. I really enjoy the "at sea days", and can't even imagine 5 ports in 6 days. And it's not like I can just stay on the ship, I so love seeing new places, it'd probably kill me to do so. As much as I love Carnival, what other options do I have? I'd probably be going in the spring (late April). I know certain lines move their ships out of the Caribbean during hurricane season. We really can't afford to pay major prices, either. We're strictly a "6A/B" kind of couple. Thanks!:)
TennisLover Posted September 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2006 I know that your question was about other lines, but I have recently become obsessed about the 8 day Carnival Cruise (Legend/Miracle) out of Fort Lauderdale -- 2 sea days, 3 southern Carib ports, 2 more sea days. I'm trying to figure out how to work it into my life in the next couple of years. If I see anything else in my search to find a Southern Carib itinerary route, I will be back! Thanks!:) I know this is the Carnival board and I hate to tell you to go elsewhere but there is a very nice Southern Caribbean Cruise that RCI has and it is comparably priced. It has less ports and that is what I DIDN'T like about it but to each his own. The ship is farely newish, just got a refurbishing and I have heard nothing but good about it. You should check it out. sme Posted September 28, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2006 We booked the Exotic Western Caribbean becuase of the sea days, and the opportunity to go through the Panama Canal. It looks like the Miracle will still be making this trip only on a limited basis.
