Irish_Jewel5 Posted September 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2006 Hi Folks, hope u well informed people can help me with this situation. Myself, husband, and my parents are cruising the Western and Eastern Caribbean Dec 10, and 17 on the Valor. We are hoping to do some private tours in the ports, however, my mother has a situation whereby she has to have access to washroom facilities on a moments notice. Usind some type of adult diaper padding or anythign like that is out of the question. She is a very young 60 and enjoys doing everything she possibly can except for the bowel problem she has. Are therea any tour operators that have bathroom facilities on their buses? so that she can tour the islands without the worries of her situation. Otherwise, she has to stay on whatever beach where washrooms would be readily available. Thanks so much for any help. Our ports of call will be Cayman Islands, Belize, Honduras, Costa Maya Mexico, then Nassau Bahamas, St Thomas and St Martin. Anything you know about any of these ports would be so greatly appreciated.
D4 Posted September 30, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2006 That's a tough situation to be in. I've taken tours in all of those ports and I think the only place where we had a bus with a bathroom was in Belize. They had very nice new buses. In a lot of places the buses are old school buses or vehicles like our hotel shuttles that seat 18 or so. Something else to consider: Grand Cayman and Belize are tender ports. That means a lot of waiting in line each way plus a boat ride to get to/from the ship. If you really mean a moment's notice, getting to those ports could be a problem in itself. zydecocruiser Posted September 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2006 Don't think I would worry about tendering in Grand Cayman. The actual tendering is just a few minutes. The lines can be long, but not everyone has to wait in line. There are a number of bars/restaurants along the waterfront where some people could wait while others in the group are holding a place in line.
