Dawn Embarkation in NYC

Does anyone know the time they board the Dawn from the VIP lounge for Penthouse suite passengers? I am told that if you arrive after they escorted passengers from the VIP lounge that you must wait in the boarding line for the general population. However, once inside you can get in the line for Penthouse/lattitude passengers which may be a shorter line.

We got to the pier at 11:05am on 9/9 and went thru the checkin process and then sat in the VIP area. Claudio came over and gave us our cards and we were escorted on the ship at 11:45am.

It went very smoothly. It was different from all the other times. They got you thru the security screening and to the checkin faster and the waiting area was next to the checkin area. A much better arrangement. I hope they keep it that way!!!

Hmm....we've boarded the Dawn a few years ago at NYC pier but this year we booked a AE suite so I gather we get the VIP embarkation boarding etc.

My question is this....when you first walk in the doors to the pier and all those people are lined up....where is the VIP waiting area? Will I know it when I see it? Will all those people in line allow us to just walk on thru?

Also, what time is the latest time we can get there and still get priority boarding? Last time we were on the Dawn we were in NYC by around 11:30 PM but got stuck in traffic heading to the pier for several hours so we never got to the pier till 2PM. :( I want to allow for enough time this time to get there earlier but not toooo early. We board Dawn this time on a Thrusday....last time was a Sunday so I don't know if that makes a difference.
