Island Time?

Does anyone know if RCI Mariner is on Cozumel time or not? My itinerary says we will be docked at 10:00 is that ship time or island time? There is an excursion we would like to do at 9:30, so I am hoping that our 10:00 arrival is actually 9:00. Thanks.

hehehe, there is no such thing as "island time". LOL

Cozumel is on Central Time, same as Mexico City and Dallas, Texas, but when you're here, it's alright to call it "island time" and even to pretend it's a time zone of it's own.

Some ships change their clocks to match port time and some do not. Not all ships stay in the time zone of their embarkation port. Your best bet is to post this question on the RCCL board, asking for input from someone who has been on the Mariner, to the Western Caribbean, recently.

All that aside, even if you do arrive at 9am, it's probably not early enough to get on a 9:30 excursion. You have to have a little more leeway than that. Contact the excursion company and ask if a 9am arrival (if that's what you have) is early enough.

Good luck!
