Plan to dive in Roatan, Cozumel and maybe Grand Cayman. Anyone else going. Host Star Posted October 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2006 i suggest you also post on the roll call board for your ship and date.. you may have some luck there
sea-jay Posted October 3, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted October 3, 2006 Already did that Star but no one logged onto our roll call is a diver. In fact, I am a member of a group that has 60 (that's right - sixty) cabins booked and not one of them dive. Go figure!!:D
sixboys Posted October 5, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Too bad that your cruise is not a month later. Am on the Zenith on the 19th of Jan and would love to have a buddy to scuba dive with. Wife will come and snorkel and read a book but doesn't dive. You can always book with an independant company an they will buddy you up. I have done Grand Cayman before and it was great, lots of walls. Don't remember the company but will look at my log book to see if I wrote it down. I know the one that I booked didn't have any other divers so they put me with a different one but it worked out well.
sea-jay Posted October 5, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Sixboys - I agree that I can always be "buuddied up" but I always like to try and get to know someone a little before I entrust my life to them (and that's basically what you are doing). On a cruise last year I met my dive buddy on the roll call and we chatted (by phone and CC Boards) for over three months before we ever met. I knew how many dives he had done, where, how frequently, the types of diving (spear, lobster, photo, cold water, etc.) and that gave me a lot more confidence than some of the other buddies I have been assigned to. Check back on this thread before you leave on the 19th and I will report how my dives went.
