Kittymama Posted July 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2004 I heard from someone "in the know" in Carnival reservations that many TAs, when booking the ship, refer to it as the VelOUR (like the fabric), instead of the VALor (the heroism). We're kind of wondering if that is something of a commentary on today's society--that people just don't hear about things like valor & courage. My sister suggested that it could become a whole new theme for Carnival ships--the Velour, the Suede, the Satin, the Taffeta... (kind of fun to think up names!). Forchunut1 Posted July 15, 2004 #16 Share Posted July 15, 2004 Poie de Soie is a French fabric that is similar to satin and is used for wedding dresses. (I used to have a bridal dressmaking business!) :)
