KatWI Posted October 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Hi! I've read that people send postcards from "Hell"...Do they have stamps, etc. there to mail them? Any idea how long a postcard would take to get delivered to the states?
gazingm42 Posted October 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2006 Yes there is a post office in Hell. The one we sent only took about 4 days to get to the west coast. There is also a gift shop next to hell PO which sells post cards, shirts like been to hell and back. But my favorite card you can sent was a picture of hell with the words, wish you were here! :) :) :)
cruznlobo Posted October 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2006 When you go to hell.....Make sure your cab is gonna wait for you.....Leave someone with it. There is not a lot there but it is a nice souvenier when you get home. When we went last January.....The cab driver said he would wait.....we did a little shopping in the gift store and mailed out our post cards. When we went to leave.....no cabs anywhere. Asked the girl in the shop to get us one and she told us to walk down to the town hall(just a few feet down the road, yea reight). We were lucky and flagged down a cab at the next corner(about a half mile down the road). Make sure the cab is gonna wait for you.
adatappstate Posted October 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2006 How much does a taxi ride cost to Hell and back...and how long does it take to get there? Is there time to do anything else while in port, or does that trip pretty much consume your whole day?

NEW 2 CRUISIN Posted October 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2006 How much does a taxi ride cost to Hell and back...and how long does it take to get there? Is there time to do anything else while in port, or does that trip pretty much consume your whole day? We're going swimming with the Sting Rays and to the Turtle Farm and Rum Cake Factory in addition to "going to Hell" on the tour while we are there, so it sounds like it does not take too long to get there. But....the big question is.....When you go to Hell, do you need to bring your own hand basket??? :D
lucille&mike Posted October 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2006 The other option with the postcard is to purchase them and have them postmarked right therre at the post office and take them with you. No chance of having them beat up in the mail. Great for collectors and friends alike.
Gesihkuh Posted October 30, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2006 Lucille&Mike have a great idea about having them postmarked. DH and I sent postcards to our folks and one to ourselves and seems like it only took a few days to arrive once we returned. It's interesting to have mail postmarked from "Hell." Like others have said, everything you need is right there. I will add that it will likely be VERY busy. The place was PACKED when we were there and we were concerned that we would miss our bus. So if you plan on spending some time there, you may not want to do it as part of a tour or excursion, as they will likely not allow a great deal of time there. photocruiser Posted October 31, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 31, 2006 Make sure you bring pre-printed address labels with you. If you are on an excursion, you will not have a lot of time here. You can buy your postcards, stamps and write a little something, but you have to be fast so you can mail these off before your bus leaves. The photo of the guy in the devil outfit, is the cashier and he says stuff like: What the hell do you want?, or who the hell is next? Don't get offended!!!!!
