How much for the soda cards for 5-night cruises?

We just did the 5 night Inspiration cruise. The Adult card was $27.50 and the Child card was $20. Adding in the 15% gratuity, it totalled $54.63 for one of each.

I think that you can get a larger refillable cup for a few dollars on the first night and carry that around for the remainder of the cruise.

You have to drink a lot of soda to make the soda card cost effective. On an earlier post someone did the math breakdown. I think it is 4 or 5 sodas a day.

We bring our own insulated cup and had no problem getting it filled. You can also use the soda card in the dining room - but not with room service.

Do they add the 15% tip when you purchase the card or do you pay it each time you get a coke? Cokes onboard are $2.75 (including 15%) so this would break down to about 2 cokes a day for a 5 day cruise. Do you know what the age is for a child's card?
