Carnival Conquest_Wrinkles?

I have a small hand held steamer that folds up and is smaller than my hairdryer. I got it pretty cheap at Wal-Mart. But this Wrinkle Releaser sounds great! Does it really work that good? What about really wrinkled clothes that have been in a suitcase for a while? Does it get the wrinkles out of them too? Have you used it while traveling with clothes that were wrinkled from being in a suitcase? I might use it instead since I don't have to plug in anything or wait for the steamer to get hot.

We took ours and all was well. But then we were very careful to never leave it alone hot and actually ensured it was cooled before we left the room. Porblem is people who don't do that.

Irons are not allowed on board due to safety reasons... here is the list Ticket Contract: Page 44. (a) Each fully paid adult guest will be allowed an unlimited amount of baggage free of charge. Baggage means only trunks, valises, satchels, bags, hangers and bundles with their contents consisting of only such wearing apparel, toilet articles and similar personal effects as are necessary and appropriate for the purpose of the journey.

X-Ray Security Machines for security purposes, carnival limits the size of hand-carry luggage to 11"X 17", which is the dimension of the opening of the X-ray security machine (similar to those used at the airport); there is no measurement for length as the hand-carry luggage will lay flat on the conveyer belt. Luggage larger than 11"X 17" will not be permitted through the security machine and must be checked-in with a curbside porter.

Safety Precautions due to "Safety Precautions", the following items are not permitted onboard:
Irons
Heating Pads
Candles

No Weapons Policy: Due to our "No Weapons Policy" and heightened security, guests are not permitted to bring on board:
Firearms or weapons of any kind
Pepper spray and mace

Safety Concerns: Due to "Safety Concerns", the following items cannot be utilized on board nor are permitted on board:
Bicycles
Surfboards
Scooters
Boats/Canoes
Scuba Tanks (empty or full)

Due to "Safety Concerns", the following items cannot be utilized on board but may be brought on board for use in port, only:
Roller Blades/Skates
Snorkel Gear
Skateboards
Golf Clubs
Fishing Rods (packed)
Tennis Rackets
Kites (packed)

Miscellaneous Concerns

Musical Instruments:For the comfort of all our guests, musical instruments can only be brought on board if the guest is performing and this performance has been pre-approved by the Group Department.

Radios/Boom Boxes: For the comfort of all our guests, radios and boom boxes can be used with headphones or ear pieces when used in public areas.

Floatation Devices: For the comfort of all our guests, rafts, tubes and floatation devices other than those used as life-preservers (water wings) cannot be used in the swimming pools on board.

Metal Detectors: Guests are not permitted to use metal detectors on board because anything found on board would "belong" to Carnival Cruise Lines. We would then try to return the item to the guest.

Wrapped Gifts: Guests may bring wrapped gifts on board; however, due to heightened security, the gift may have to be unwrapped, upon request.

VCRs/Nintendo/Play Units: These items cannot be utilized on board because of the incompatibility of the units with the stateroom televisions.

Fish Caught on Fishing Expeditions: The fish cannot be brought on board; it must be shipped home.

You can bring a small travel iron, but the ship is suppose to have facilities in which to do your laundry and ironing. That is the best way, but if you take a small one , travel iron, we do, then just be careful. I have read recently were they did take one out from a bag, we have normally brought one but buried well within our luggage

I have to agree with that one.... I know some people smuggle things they shouldnt but the first three things in that list (Irons, Heating Pads and Candles) should be followed... There is a reason that they state "no irons"... it is for the SAFETY of your fellow passengers...

If you are a safety person like me, and hate wrinkled clothes, try to get one on. We packed ours in a beach towel and place cans of cokes all around it. When they x-rayed it, all they saw were the cokes. We did it in a checked bag. Just be sure for the safety of others, be careful. Our iron turns off after 15 minutes, but I unplugged it, and placed it in the closet after each use.

Lets see what is more of a fire hazard, matches, lighters, cigarettes etc hmmm small travel iron doubt it How about all the extention cords that folks bring, have they been checked are they UL certifed, could they be a fire hazard I think so, and my goodness how many curling irons etc have been left on with the potential to fall and perhaps start a problem.

I do remember on a princess cruise, the wife was drying her hair with her bazillion watt hair dryer, it must have pointed at the smoke detector, sensor in the ceiling little red light started flashing and the bridge called to ensure that we were ok and that all was fine.

Lets be realistic here, they have to tell you not to bring stuff so that we dont have a problem when we cruise.

Oh well, on those ships that provide irons etc, I leave mine at home, on those that dont Mine goes along
