aussiedisneyfan Posted October 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2006 What a weird thread title, hey. Anyway I am wondering that since Bananas around here are so expensive are they available on the ships. Did anybody notice them on the last few cruises? qld cruiser Posted October 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Hi Aussie. We had them in July out of Auckland to Fiji, but they were from the Phillipines. have to add, they were lovely. all the Aussies on board took full advantage. I don't know if they would have them out of Australia just yet. I love them too. there's always plenty of fruits to chose from at the buffet. kind regards, Lorraine:) :)
Tinalou Posted October 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Yep, we had the smaller bananas at the buffet everyday. It had been so long since I had had a banana that I was stockpiling them and taking them back to my cabin for midnight snacks. :o They were so sweet and delicious. And there was plenty of them! AuzzieCruiser Posted October 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Ever since I got to the States, I've been catching up on my banana consumption. I bought them for 49c a pound in a supermarket in Anaheim. I ended up getting 2 kilos of bananas for around $4US. On the boat we ordered a fruit basket (free of charge), and ordered a few bananas, oranges, apples and pears. We have put them in the fridge, and just go to the fridge whenever we want a piece of fruit. What a shame I can't bring any bananas back home to Australia. Tinalou Posted October 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2006 What a shame I can't bring any bananas back home to Australia. Yep, that's what I said to myself. Lucky you! I never realised how much I love bananas until we cut back on buying them. :o
Rare Kinkacruiser Posted October 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Oh yes, I'm hanging out for bananas. I haven't had one since the March cyclone knocked out the main supply at Innisfail. Wouldn't mind a bit of papaya too. Is the longish "red" variety about? Just 12 sleeps to blast off....Hurrah Kinka
Rallo Posted October 13, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Aussie I had never seen so many bananas as we had on our cruise in September - well not for awhile anyway. Don't worry - you'll have heaps of them.
