wanting to snorkle from shore

We are going to Belize , Costa Maya , Cozumel and freeport in April does anyone know of a good place to snorrkle from the beach also is dead man's reef in freeport ok snorkeling for kids? were all first time snorkelers. Is it easy to get to dead man's reef from the cruise port

Ships to Belize dock in Belize City and then you have to take a boat to any snorkelling spots as there are none in Belize City. I'm not sure where the cruise ships stop in Costa Maya but I suspect the ship probably docks in Playa del Carmen and I'm not aware of any snorkelling there. Although I have driven south of Playa del Carmen and there is very good snorkelling off the beach at Akumal. I've never snorkelled off the beach in Cozumel, but I've heard that there are a number of sites that can be reached from where the ship docks. Good Luck

In Cozumel you can go to Chankunab Park(sp?). Its a nice destination. If you go to the ports of call for Cozumel you can find out more. It used to be a $10 cab ride. I have not been there since the Hurricane.
