We just returned a week ago from our 9-day E.Caribbean cruise on the Crown Princess. We did experience some moderate seas (but not what we'd consider rough) and fairly strong winds at the last 1/2 of the trip, which prompted the cancellation of our stop at Bermuda. We sailed on 9/30/06--a tricky time of year (hurricanes are a common occurence); however, as you're sailing in July, you should be fine. We had a nice time--met some great CC members. Hope you have a wonderful cruise!

I strongly suggest you spend some time searching this site for reports about the Crown out of NYC in the summer. The trips this year had lots of young adults/teens on board that were the topic of much conversation. Search "You Tube "for the video of the Brownie riot. We took the Eastern Caribbean itinerary over the Western (not interested in Grand Cayman or Ocho Rios).

We sailed a week before and other than the first sea day, New York to Bermuda being only slightly rough, rest of trip was nice and smooth. We made Bermuda with out problem. In July I would expect you won't have any problems, but there aren't any guarantees that I know of.

We sailed that itinerary during the last week of August this year. It was smooth as glass for the entire trip up until the last sea day, heading back to NY. Unfortunately we ran into the tail end of a hurricaine and things turned ugly very quickly.

Travelling anytime from June thru November in the Carribean is a gamble. It is hurricaine season and there is no way to forcast what will happen. The good news is that the odds are with you. Go and have a good time. Take plently of Bonine with you in case the sea gets rough, it's a lifesaver as long as you take it BEFORE you actually feel ill.

We were on the Crown 9/30 cruise. That time of year is very different than a July cruise (wind and sea conditions markedly different). July will be very hot in the carribean, but I'm sure you already know that. Yes, there will be many children on board, school is out here for June, July and August. The Crown has excellent youth security and all should be fine. Good luck in making your decision and enjoy your cruise.

We were on the July 2 Crown Princess cruise. After the ship was finally fueled with the proper grade diesel(which delayed our departure by 8 or 9 hours) the rest of the trip was lovely. No rough seas anywhere. Ship is beautiful, crew is great, and the cookies and donuts at the International Cafe wonderful. Highly recommend this cruise(eastern), although next summer we're going on the Carnival Miracle because we think our daughter and son in law will like the atmosphere, cabin, entertainment and casino more on Carnival. We'll probably alternate our summer cruise and be back on the Crown in 2008.

We sailed on the modified July 22 cruise. It was a bit rough the first two days sailing to Grand Turk and a bit rough the last full day heading back to NYC. There were storms in the area both times. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the entire cruise. We are sailing the Crown again next July. What is the date of your sailing?
