yst347 Posted October 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2006 The pools are salt water. They are filled each morning with fresh sea water and drained each night. The hot-tubs are fresh water and chlorinated. The only mass-market cruiseline with freshwater chlorinated pools in Princess.
pholter Posted October 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2006 I would say "no" because they are saltwater- sea water, not fresh water pools.
swtheart99 Posted October 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Hey Caitlyn Most of the pools on Carnival ships are drained nightly and they use salt water from the ocean to fill them each day. I havent been on a cruise in a while so maybe it has changed since then. ~Jill

boundingmaynard Posted October 16, 2006 #11 Share Posted October 16, 2006 The pools are saltwater and not chlorinated, however the water is filtered.
star10 Posted October 16, 2006 #12 Share Posted October 16, 2006 I'm so glad to hear that the water is still filtered... it was starting to gross me out thinking that the same pool of water is used all day long. The pools aren't that big, and the amount of people in them would warrant some type of filtering. I was hoping that the water was coninually replaced somehow with clean ocean water. That would clear up any disgusting thoughts that are going thru my mind. Oh well. Filtered is better than nothing. :)
deeolasingh Posted October 16, 2006 #13 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Does it leave that yucky itchy feeling like the actual beach water? Just wondering.... I hate that feeling.... just thinking about it I get itchy:eek:
gtalum Posted October 16, 2006 #14 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Does it leave that yucky itchy feeling like the actual beach water? Just wondering.... I hate that feeling.... just thinking about it I get itchy:eek: No, it's clean, so it's nto irritating like beach water. Plus, there are fresh water showers next to each pool. You can rinse off with fresh water after you get out.
