dancedemon Posted October 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Someone recommended Cable Beach as a good place to snorkel on the way back to the ship from Stuart's Cove. Could anyone suggest which part of Cable Beach would be best for entry? Thanks!
neverdonethat Posted October 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2006 I think there is too much boat/jet ski activity near the big resorts around the Radisson. I found good snorkeling across the street from the Orange Hill Inn. It is on the way to Stuarts Cove when you get past the congested area. I can't remember any landmarks though. There are 2 small reef areas very close to shore and a larger area very far out. If you are a strong swimmer, I recommend the one that is farther out, but it is probably a good 3/4 mile out (seemed like that anyway). There are some very cool fish and marine life even at the reefs about 100' off shore. Have fun.
dancedemon Posted October 21, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted October 21, 2006 Thanks! How did you ever find that location info? I can't find Orange Hill Inn in any guide books. Can't wait to see the fish!!!!!
neverdonethat Posted October 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2006 I stayed there this summer. It is not a fancy place but my wife and I don't spend much time in the room so we didn't mind. Mostly divers stay there becauseit is cheap and laid back. If you need help finding the spot, ask the guy at the desk.
QueenofScreen Posted October 30, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2006 My 2cents... Cable beach has nothing worthwhile to see while snorkelling. And as said ,the ski do traffic is horrible. I haven't snorkelled in Nassau, but I'd head to other areas of the island.
