Cocoa822 Posted October 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2006 My family and I are going on the Imagination next week!! Does anyone have any advice for us. The ports of call are Miami, Ochos Rios, and Grand Cayman. It will be me and my DH's 2nd cruise and our Mothers' 1st.The first was RC Majesty of the Seas last September for our honeymoon. We liked it ok for our 1st experience. We were curious about the Carnival Ships so we're trying Imagination. Help us out if you can;) . mrdood Posted October 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Was on board last month for the same itinerary, you can look at the pics by clicking on the link in my signature. Also there have been some great reviews. Enter "Imagination Review" into the "Search this forum" link (not the search on top) and you will get back many excellent reviews to read. kym05 Posted October 17, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2006 Hi Cocoa hope this helps i was on the imagination with my son and nice last year. Its not a new ship and doesnt campare to the Spirit or the Destiny class ships. The crew were very nice and the ship was keeped pretty clean. But you can tell your on an older ship. If that were not may 12th cruise with carnival I would have not have had such high expectations. There are no non suite staterooms that have balconies so enjoy the window view if you have an outside cabin . They dont serve steak no grilled chicken at the grill for lunch. And they dont have any super club restaurants on the ship. But other then that a vacation is what you make of it. Even with out the extra amenaties i still enjoyed myself with my mother, wife son and niece! Enjoy
sharecruises Posted October 18, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Great ship and great cruise....everyone I spoke to seemed happy! The crew on Imagination are simply great, always busy and cleaning, always friendly, smiles all around. The ship seems very organized. They do a super job on tendering in Grand Cayman. Other ships were using their own tenders and had lines, but Imagination has it down to a science I think, they have the biggest tenders and it went very smooth. The week I was there the ship had again placed 2nd in the Customer Service Survey....which is for the entire fleet. From what I heard, Inspiration, Imagination and Miracle are often in the top 3 for customer satisfaction, also they are very highly prized by the staff, and have many "senior" staff members Imagination has been sailing pretty much the same route since it started, used to be 7 night, now 4 and 5, but same ports, and they are great at it IMHO. Most of the reviews are pretty positive, and it seems like there are not many "horror" stories about this ship Yes, the decor is a bit "flashy" but it is really really clean, I think they did tone down some of the carpets and stuff in it's last major drydock as I saw the "picture book" of it in the gift shop and it used to be even wilder decor LOL Main thing tho : great crew, great service, super clean, and very organized. Price is right too : great value. Don't miss the sushi every night by the casino before dinner, nice appetizer.
BelatedHoneymooners2006 Posted October 18, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2006 I sailed on the Imagination in August of 2001. I agree that it was definately an older ship, but it was kept in very good repair and it was very clean. The staff was great too :)
sjcruiser Posted October 18, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Hey Cocoa, I'll be on the Imagination on November 11th. So far, I have heard nothing but high remarks for this ship. Be sure to post a review w/pics as soon as you return. I think you'll be the last person to cruise the Imagination before I go. Thanks
