Etiquette Classes while at Sea

I just saw that there will be Etiquette classes for 6 to 17 year olds during a June cruise in 2007.

 

What a unique idea. Classes for the young ones while the parnes take the vacation. I understand that the instructor teaches a summer camp each year for those ages but in 2007, she will be doing it on a ship. It was talked about in an article in the Orlando FL newspaper. I was told that there may also be some activities that will include whole families like a miniature golf tournament.

 

Here is just a small sample of the things they will learn on the ship.

 

Teens:

Making Friends - Conversational & Communication Skills

Impressive Telephone Manners - How to Make Proper Introductions and

Handshakes - Avoiding Peer Pressure - Meeting, Greeting and Treating

Others - Speaking in Public without being Nervous - Dining Survival -

Restaurant Dining Savvy - American & Continental Styles of Eating -

Dining with Ease - Eating Difficult Foods - Navigating the Place Setting

 

Younger Kids:

Making Friends Easily & Choosing Good Friends

Making Introductions - Speaking with Confidence - Conversational Skills

Telephone Manners - Safety & Strangers - Church and School Manners

Being a Good Friend, Host and Guest - Proper Greetings & Handshakes

Party Manners - Honoring and Obeying Parents and 9 other rules

Restaurant Manners - Being a Good Sport - Table & Dining Manners

Sibling Relationships - Respectfulness - Utensil Placement, Showing Appreciation & Being Thankful

Our local recreation program has begun the same type of classes. Must be a new trend.
