3) Coffee card: Is it worth it? Can I get "real coffee" anywhere else on the ship for free? If I order room service every morning for coffee to be delivered, is it good and free? (Good being more important)

4) Can we order cocktails at dinner from our waiter. We are late seating in the main dining room... Would love to have a martini with apps every now and again...

I'm going to answer a few of your questions, since Bill is probably still sleeping. Or, waiting for a computer. Or, off the ship. :)

#3. No, the stuff you get delivered from room service is still the same awful coffee. That's why I always pack my own coffee pot.

#4. Yes

Just got back. cozumel went to the dock midtown. there was a 3 day cruise Carnival in port. went to carlos and charlies at 1 pm and everybody was already blotto. what a time. bought some trinkets etc. wow they even had clean public rest rooms.

They changed the clocks all the time on the cruise . didn't know what the time was. keep checking your stateroom clock on the phone.

Bill,

Thanks for all your posts. We are new to these boards and getting really excited as we set sail on Coral Princess 11/12. A couple of questions:

1) You've mentioned it's hot.... but is it sunny? (We hope).

Very Sunny, a few clouds from time to time, But is does rain here,

but it clears quick, also, No Rain at all so far;)

2) Also, we are staying on the Aloha deck (in a balcony cabin) near the Kid's zone. We're wondering if you knew if those dates usually get a lot of children? :)

3) Coffee card: Is it worth it? Can I get "real coffee" anywhere else on the ship for free? If I order room service every morning for coffee to be delivered, is it good and free? (Good being more important) The Card is for ,Cappicino. Latties, etc 15 for $24, punch card, The Free Coffee is a bonus if you have the card, $1.00 sm $1.50 lg w/o the card at the places you now have to pay. "Real" coffee means not the syrup junk they have in the Horzion Court. THe Coffee is reg brew w/ rooom service, yes, but you need to tip, no prob if you eating too of course;)

4) Can we order cocktails at dinner from our waiter. We are late seating in the main dining room... Would love to have a martini with apps every now and again... Sure Can anything you like:)

Thanks so much! Keep the details coming.

J & T

bought the coffee card but can only use it in limited locals. Horizon buffet, main dining room and the one bar midships. didn't really use it up. coffee everywhere else was free.

Yes, but the Horizon is syrup. & you buy the "Premiun Coffee Card" Called

"King of Cups" for the Latties, Cappacinos, etc Not Reg Coffee, that is just the Bonus, if you use it otherwise;) Irene like those & I like the "Free" Real Coffee at the internet:D It work for Us:) My Best! Bill

Bill,

Thanks so much for keeping us involved in your adventures! It is so much fun getting a preview on what to expect in 4 weeks (from today, not that I am counting).

If you get the chance, could you check out the kids program?

Thanks and have a great time!

Erin

Hi Erin,

I went up & visited with the Director of the Kids Program, Very Good Feeling, of their Professionalism;) 40 Kids under 17 this trip, almost 0 the next, & 40++ for yours so far, will put more help on if it gets larger.

They have Reg programs for 4 age groups(8-12 would be in the Same group) with/ 4 Coordinators. Can leave Kids their (Kids Zone) lots of Nice Rooms, & go ashore on Shore Days 8 to 5, fully supervised & no charge also after dinner till 10PM & (10PM to 1AM $5.00/Child/ Hr). Less hours for days at Sea! Would NOT let me in room with kids, excellent control, talked w/ me outside room door. Area Posted as "Restricted Area" - "KIDS ZONE- Only" I was impressed!;) Check out the programs on the Princess.com website, there is lots of Basic info there for the Programs, I'm told, OK? My Best! Bill,

I see you were up until midnight posting last night. Are you enjoying it or do you find it a lot of work? Are you missing out on the pleasures of cruising because you are stuck in the internet cafe posting? I'm feeling guilty since I was the one who suggested that you do a "Live from" for our benefits so I hope your answer is the former. Tony spent a lot of time posting but he did most of it 4am-6am ( what else could he do at that time of morning when everyone else is still sleeping?) We do appreciate all his postings though and likewise yours.:)

I see from your signature that you have a few trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific crossings planned. Have you ever done any of these before? The most sea days I have had in sucession has been 3 days and loved them ( love sea days) but would 6 or more sea days together be a negative. Also when you are in the middle of the Atlantic or Pacific, do the seas tend to be rougher? DH and I have talked about a trans-Atlantic crossing but have some reservations. If we do do one, I thought a spring one from the US to Europe would be calmer. What do you and the experts think?

Continue to enjoy your cruise and as always, thanks.

Mary

Hi Mary, Like I told Ron, No Problem Mon:D I don't go to the Casino or Drink,(My Addiction is the internet) so I have more time & I enjoy CC's as we All do:) I do like Shows, Art Auctions, Meals, Occasional Visits to shore, when it's not to HOT;) Oh, & I sleep later,as I'm somewhat older:D

The Hard part is writing the samething twice or three times, because of the reboots & freezes:( cut,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Bill

Yup, Did a 17 Day+10 Baltic(B2B)TransAtlantic on the Grand in 2004, it was great.:) The Seas were very Mild, like in the Caribe, but you never know, what you'll get when you cross, although they say it's better going West, I believe. Although we went East to Europe;) The more Sea days the better for Us, but that is a personal decision. We like 5 or 6 in a row,

we don't like 5 or six port days in a row, too tiring.:( Actually the Middle of the Atlantic was like glass for Us for two days:D My Best! Bill

Would you consider me an expert? :) Hi Mary.......... We've been on lots of transatlantics (also transpacifics), going both ways; April and May to Europe, others in September returning. All wonderful. Can't recall anything but pure pleasure. Ask me again next year when we do it on the Royal from Athens to Ft. Lauderdale, beginning November 4th to Dec. 22nd.

Yes, Arlene, you are certainly one of the experts I was referring to. Did you notice a difference between the spring and the fall crossings? We have never spoken to anyone about the crossings to Europe in the spring but two people have told us about the high waves from Europe over to North America. I guess for those of us who love cruising and sea days, it might not make a difference but did you notice any?
