Guarantee Ocean View Cabin?

How does this work with a guaranteed ocean view booking? Does NCL let me know prior to sailing, etc? Any help is appreciated.

We booked an outside room guarantee on the Star for Nov. 30. I looked at our reservation on the website and one day the GTY disappeared and a room number showed up. We were assigned a picture window room which was the second highest catagory for outside rooms. This was done about 7 weeks from sailing.

 

The timing of these assignments I would think depends on how full the ship is. If it is fairly full they will wait because if they can sell the higher priced rooms they are going to do it. If there are hundreds of rooms left they will assign early. Remember the lower priced rooms in a catagory will sell first.

 

I would definately do the guarantee room again.
