Momeof3 Posted November 8, 2006 #26 Share Posted November 8, 2006 We Booked at the Traveloge Monaco Resort and hear it is beautiful, right on the beach on Collins Ave. Its about a 30 min drive from the pier. But we are paying $85 for the night. I called directly, but I booked 2 months ago. They told me that the price will jump since the hotels are booking quickly because of the Superbowl. We are renting a few cars from Dollar Car Rental and when we drop the car back off at the airport they provide a free shuttle to the pier. We (9 of us) feel that we got a great deal on both car and hotel.
Sue L Posted November 8, 2006 #27 Share Posted November 8, 2006 We just switched our 2/24 Navigator to 2/10 which is going to allow us to spend an extra 3 days to kick around in Miami, which we've never done. We are staying at the Intercontinental. I really want to see some of the area without the hassle of renting a car. What kind of transportation is there downtown to get to South Beach and around the city etc? How about day trips to the Everglades etc? Can anyone who is familiar give me some info? Thanks! Jenn Most intercontinentals have a conceirge, I would suggest calling the hotel directly and see if they (the hotel) offers any type of tours for their guests. We have done this at other locations (Intercontinental) and have had wonderful luck! If they don't have tours they can probably point you in the right direction to find some.
