girlbuffalo1 Posted October 26, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2006 How long on average have you found in your experience does it take to take a cab from LaGuardia airport to the cruise ships at New York Port. It advises to allow an hour on the website. I just wanted to know best and worst case scenario--as of course it is New York City--and things can be a bit crazy there at times traffic wise. We will be making this trip around 1PM on a Thursday if that helps. Thanks!
Editor Posted October 26, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2006 As a native New Yorker who has flown in and out of LGA many times, I would say give yourself at least an hour.
Cruise Lover Kathy Posted October 26, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2006 We used Promenade Car Service that someone on one of the threads recommended. They were very prompt--even calling us as our plane landed at LGA. We headed to the new terminal in Brooklyn and it took about 45 minutes around lunch time. Going back to the airport took about the same amount of time and there were some traffic jams on the way.

Thanks! While you can make it in 20 minutes and 1 pm shouldn't be too bad, you never know. An hour is not a bad outside estimate. It shouldn't take much longer even in heavy traffic. I assume you are going to Manhattan not Brooklyn...Brooklyn should be about the same(20 minutes with no traffic and up to an hour with)...
